London pitcher Manny del Rio did his part in helping his team beat the Celtic Curse, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. del Rio got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 3 hits and walked 6 over 8 innings. He allowed 3 runs. London goes to 3-1 with the win.

Had Mats Silander not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Silander hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Knights.
