The Holland Halberdiers downed the Sicilian Capos, 4-1, at Cosa Nostra Stadium. Stellar pitching by Orlando Pininferino had a lot to do with it. The right-hander handcuffed his opponent all game. Pininferino, now 11-14, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 1, walking 5, and allowing 1 run. The Halberdiers improved their record to 57-68 by beating Sicilian.

Had Fabrizio Galilei delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Galilei flied out. The score remained 3-1, Holland, and the Halberdiers were out of the jam.
