Placeholders Squelch Capos Offense in Shutout Win
Paris pitcher Carlos Herrera did his part in helping his team defeat the Sicilian Capos, 4-0. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Herrera, the winner, moves to 7-6. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 1 walk. By defeating Sicilian, the 5th-place Placeholders improved to 63-64.

Leonard Pavoni had a big solo home run for the Placeholders in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Paris leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from Reece Budd, who is tied for 2nd in the RL with a 1.23 WHIP, and punished it. The result was his 10th home run of the season, which put the Placeholders on top, 2-0.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Pavoni.
