The Madrid Matadors knocked off the Celtic Curse, 7-1, in Romantic League action at Matadors Stadium. Madrid pitcher and Drohobych, Ukraine, native Tolenka Kachin had an outstanding performance. Kachin, who is tied for 5th in the RL with a 2.98 ERA, went the distance for Madrid. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. With the victory, the Matadors upped their record to 66-65.

Madrid second baseman Christian Bigica contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 149th hit of the season and put the Matadors ahead, 4-1.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Bigica.
