The Paris Placeholders faced a tough opponent in London pitcher Lyonechka Eidlin, but still scratched out a win at Placeholders Field by a final score of 5-4 in 11 innings. Eidlin went 9.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Paris now sits at 70-65, while London falls to 56-76.

The Placeholders got a clutch hit from first baseman Arrigo Recchi. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Placeholders.

"Our team showed some gumption," said Recchi. "I like it."
