Curse Keep Streak Alive with Late Rally
The Venetian Venators could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Jérôme Roger into a win. Instead, the Celtic Curse prevailed, 7-3. Roger threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball. Celtic pitcher Juan Guzman earned the win, hiking his record to 13-19. Luchino Cimabue suffered the loss. Celtic has now won 4 straight.

The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Marius Tomei came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Venetian pitcher Luchino Cimabue, he hit a 0-1 fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Celtic on top, 5-3.
