St. Petersburg Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Valkyries, 9-6
Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Oslo Valkyries home opener. Wulf de Jong started for the home team against Nikolle Bushati for the St. Petersburg. The Valkyries were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 9-6, St. Petersburg. Giovani Martini, though, was impressive. Wilbart Miller earned the save for St. Petersburg, his 1st.

Lazarus Miller drove in one run for St. Petersburg. The 22-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the eighth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 6-6 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Mattia Brandi. It was his 1st RBI of the season.

Miller told a St. Petersburg Gazette reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
