St. Petersburg starter Maxim Darchiev found his groove in his team's 8-1 win over the Oslo Valkyries. Semavi Halil earned the save for St. Petersburg, his 1st of the year. The loss puts Oslo at 0-2.

St. Petersburg second baseman Gerek Biernat contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the third. With two down, he hit a slider to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 3rd hit of the season and put the St. Petersburg ahead, 2-0.

Biernat said his team "played with focus."
