The Munich Feldherren finished things off in style.
The performance of Nicky Wright proved critical in helping Munich beat St. Petersburg, 7-5. The Feldherren pinch hitter was 1-1 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. With the victory, the Feldherren upped their record to 64-64.
The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the ninth. With Munich trailing 5-3, Wright jumped on a cutter from 25-year old left-handed pitcher Semavi Halil and hit a grand slam home run to left-center. With one swing, the Feldherren had a walk-off win.
In postgame comments to the Munich Observer, Wright said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
