Kaiser Blanks Holland, 4-0
Thursday, April 1st , 1926
The Holland Halberdiers were almost helpless in their 4-0 loss to the Bern Helvetics and hurler Bergen Kaiser. Kaiser kept the Halberdiers confused all game, spinning a 5-hit shutout.
"Tip your hat to Kaiser," Holland manager Lookia Wookia said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."
The 25-year-old left-hander had no walks and 3 strikeouts in a strong performance.
"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Kaiser said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."
