RL Announces Best Pitcher for August Wednesday, September 1st , 1926 In August, when the name of Bergen Kaiser appeared on the Bern lineup card it was a virtual lock on a victory. He started 6 times and chalked up 5 wins and 1 loss. With those stats it was also a virtual lock that he would be named the Romantic League Pitcher of the Month. Kaiser shackled opposing batters on 40 base hits and a .208 batting average. He rang up 10 strikeouts in 55 innings of work, surrendered 15 walks and fashioned a sparkling 2.29 ERA. Thus far this season, Kaiser has tossed 262 innings in 30 starts, fanned 69 batters, walked 68 and put up a 3.81 ERA with 13 wins and 15 losses. |
