Tomei 5-for-6 Against Madrid
Friday, September 10th , 1926
After a 5-hit effort to lead Celtic's 13-4 victory over the Madrid Matadors, center fielder Marius Tomei told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the European Baseball Commission-level is really something special."

The 24-year-old player earned his accolades at Matadors Stadium with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Matadors.

"His swing is getting there," said Curse skipper Lookia Wookia, who spoke glowingly of Tomei after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Marius did that to perfection."

Marius Tomei flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.

Tomei is hitting .312 so far this season with 38 RBIs and 60 runs scored. He has 125 hits including no home runs, 17 walks and .344 OBP.
