Vienna Stops Trotzky Hit Streak
Saturday, September 18th , 1926
Maybe it really is taboo to talk about a hitting streak before it's over. Hours after speaking to the press about his 22-game hitting streak, Istanbul right fielder Pyotr Trotzky went hitless in 3 at-bats at Hippodrome.

The sudden hitting drought came as the Trojans snagged the 6-4 win over the Vienna Volkshelden.

"Nope, it's not magic," Trotzky said in his postgame press conference. "Nobody jinxed me. Streaks don't last forever. I've heard about it every day for weeks now. My roomie told me to get a hit before every game and wished me luck. I just ran out of hits."

This season, Trotzky has hit at a .320 clip and produced 59 runs batted in, 6 home runs and 31 runs.
