Whiskey Jacks Handed 3-1 Loss by Anchorage
The Anchorage Whalers got a stellar performance from pitcher Moises Mendoza, who handcuffed the Wheat City offense en route to a win, 3-1, at Grounds. The save went to Jaime Mendoza, number 3 for him. Anchorage is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 6th win in 16 games.

Josh Smith helped out the Anchorage cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the shortstop was 1 for 2 with a walk.

"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Mendoza told the Anchorage Chronicle. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
