"All I did was not allow any runs," he joked after the game. "I mean, technically, that's what they pay me to do, right?"

St. Petersburg Rock Cats fans were pleased to see so many goose eggs up on the scoreboard as Carlos Medrano blanked the Moscow Ambassadors, 3-0, at Ambassadors Ballpark. Medrano stopped them on 3 hits while walking 2 and striking out 0.

"Once he gets in a groove, he can be dynamite," Rock Cats skipper said. "He was on top of his game in this one."
