The Anchorage Whalers took Wheat City pitcher Danny Villegas's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Grounds. The final score had Anchorage getting past the Whiskey Jacks, 6-4. Villegas went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 8. Jaime Mendoza finished to wrap up his 4th save. The Whalers sport a record of 7-11.

Had Angel Gordiano not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Gordiano hit a 3-run home run. That made the score 6-3, in favor of the Whalers.

"I felt good up there," said Gordiano. "I saw the ball well."
