Fine Effort by Carroll Not Enough in 8-6 Monongahelas Loss
The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.

Pittsburgh left fielder Matthew Carroll had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 8-6, to Salt Lake City at Smith's Ballpark. Carroll was 3-5 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. Earning his 1st save of the year was Tim Bird.

Salt Lake City took a 6-5 lead on Mark Culhane's 3rd home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Pittsburgh pitcher Juan Medina in the bottom of the eighth.

"I don't care about style points," Culhane said. "I only care about winning."

The Missionaries, now 5-11, have not found much traction so far in 2068.
