Behind an impressive start by Andy Ruelas, Pittsburgh beat Salt Lake City, 8-0. Ruelas picked up the win for Pittsburgh, going 8.2 innings. He gave up no runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 3-0. Pittsburgh leads the Frontier League Heartland by 3 games.
Pittsburgh used the timely hitting of Manuel Aguirre to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Monongahelas on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
