Mavericks Topple Cavaliers with Late Rally
The Phoenix Mavericks overcame a fine performance by Columbus center fielder Jesus Valadez to defeat the Cavaliers, 5-4, at Chasefield. Valadez went 4 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. Phoenix pitcher Julian Lunz got the win, upping his record to 1-1. Tommy Vann got the loss. The 4th-place Mavericks improved to 10-14.

Joe Touchette was the walk-off hero for Phoenix. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Mavericks center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.

"We did enough to win," said Touchette.
