Keys Lose to Whalers in Walk Off
The Anchorage Whalers downed the Kansas City Keys, 3-2. The hitting star was right fielder Jon Houghton. Houghton went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks for the Whalers. Reliever Jaime Mendoza picked up the win. His record improves to 1-3. Chris Arambula took the loss. At 10-14, the Whalers find themselves in 4th place in the Frontier League West.

Donovan Efferson made an early impact for Anchorage when he stroked his 4th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which came with no one out in the bottom of the first, put the Whalers on top, 2-0.

"Enjoyed this one," Efferson told the Anchorage Chronicle. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
