Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Whalers
The Phoenix Mavericks got a superb performance from pitcher Chris Alexander. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Anchorage. The Whalers won the game, 2-1. Alexander threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Alex Torres, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit. Anchorage is now riding a 3-game win streak.

The Whalers relied on left fielder Ricardo Lopez for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the 15th, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.

"Our team showed some gumption," said Lopez. "I like it."
