Lightning Drop Keys, 5-2
|
Louisville and Kansas City duked it out and the Lightning came out victorious.
The Lightning grabbed a win, 5-2, at Polo Grounds 1923, overcoming a fine effort from Kansas City pitcher Leo Elias. Elias went 5.1 innings and allowed 4 runs. Bobby Sanchez, now 1-1, was credited with the win. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0. Howard Misner nailed down his 5th save.
Andy Beaudoin, the 32-year old shortstop , had a direct impact on the outcome. Beaudoin contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put Louisville up, 1-0.
Beaudoin called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
The Lightning now have a record of 12-14 with the win over Kansas City.
