The Sacramento Sluggers beat the Anchorage Whalers, 1-0. Sacramento pitcher and Boston, Massachusetts, native Rich Meier led the way. Kyle DeBerry picked up the save for Sacramento, his 8th of the year. With the win, Sacramento upped its record to 16-13.

In the bottom of the second, Sacramento catcher Bill Guzman had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 2nd and no one out, Guzman stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 1-0, Sacramento. For the game, he went 2-2 with 2 singles and a walk.
