Wheat City Gets 6-4 Road Win
|
The Wheat City Whiskey Jacks topped the Salt Lake City Missionaries, 6-4, in Frontier League action at Smith's Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of Wheat City pitcher Josh Lopez. Lopez got the win, improving to 4-1. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. Lopez allowed 1 run. The save went to Bill Park, his 7th this season.
Eric Uttley, the 29-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Uttley contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put Wheat City up, 4-1.
"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Uttley.
The win lifted the Wheat City record to 17-15.
