5-Hit Blitz by Prague's Silander
It was a sensational day at the plate for Prague Rush left fielder Mats Silander, but a tough one for the team, as the Rush dropped the contest, 8-7, to the Birmingham Comets.

Even with the loss, Silander was pure misery for the Birmingham pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked after going 5-for-5 in an explosive display of hitting.

"It's always good to get a bunch of hits in a game, but you also want to win," said Silander, who is the 24-year old left fielder .

"Silander really hit the ball hard and when you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage," Comets manager told BNN reporters after the game. "I feel like we threw him some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."

Mats Silander hit an RBI triple in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 6th and singled in the 8th.

So far this season, Silander has gotten 162 hits in 482 at-bats for a .336 batting average with 5 home runs. His stats include 91 RBIs and 81 runs scored. He has played in 122 games.
