Crocodiles Continue Hot Streak with Extra-Inning Win
|
The Tampa Crocodiles picked up a win at El Morro Park, knocking off the San Juan Defenders, 4-2. Starting pitcher Ricardo Pardo was an essential part of his team's success. Bobby Pirtle earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 2-0. The Crocodiles have now won 5 straight.
Runs were scarce in this one. So, John Pruitt's at-bat in the top of the tenth was vitally important. With no one out, the Tampa designated hitter reached on an error by the 1B, driving in 1 run, to give his team a 3-2 lead.
"Good win for us, tough loss for them," said Pruitt.
