The home crowd had a good time watching the Brooklyn Brawlers and Mexico City Blazers get after it.

The exploits of left fielder Joe Peckford, who finished 2nd in the FL in runs with 64 in 2058, helped the Mexico City Blazers defeat the Brooklyn Brawlers, 8-2. Peckford hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Mexico City is now 11-14.

Rich Alvarez drove in one run for Mexico City. The 25-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Joe Woodring. It was his 10th RBI of the season.

"We'll take some time to unwind," said Alvarez, "and then get after it again."
