Brest Shuts Out Brasov, 4-0 Sunday, September 5th , 1926 The Brasov Mustangs were almost helpless in their 4-0 loss to the Brest Silver Knights and hurler Eugene Hagias. Hagias kept the Mustangs confused all game, spinning a 3-hit shutout. "Tip your hat to Hagias," Brasov manager said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night." The 25-year-old right-hander had 1 walk and 6 strikeouts in a strong performance. "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Hagias said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way." This season, Hagias has compiled a 21-14 record with a 2.00 ERA. |
