Dautzenburg Shuts Out Budapest, 4-0
Sunday, September 5th , 1926
Richard Dautzenburg kept the opposition off the scoreboard and the Palermo Frozen Ropes were all smiles after winning, 4-0, against the Budapest Bulls at Bulls Field. The right-handed Dautzenburg gave up no runs in his start, permitted 2 hits, and tallied 5 strikeouts.
"If there was a stat for 'team shutout,' this would be it," Dautzenburg said later. "My catcher called a great game, guys delivered at the plate and when I messed something up the guys behind me were where they needed to be."
This year, Dautzenburg has worked 264 innings with 151 strikeouts en route to a 19-11 record and a 1.91 ERA.
