Corsairs Get One to Win Monday, September 6th , 1926 Leen Kloppers subdued the Dresden Sailors, 1-0, pitching a 4-hit gem for the Leipzig Corsairs at Dresden Stadium. "He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," Leipzig skipper said. Kloppers registered 6 strikeouts and issued 2 walks in his superb performance. "We just didn't swing the bats very well. Or else he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said Dresden manager after the defeat. So far this year, Kloppers has 13 wins and 18 losses and a 2.43 ERA. |
