Palermo Beats Budapest as Christiansen Throws 8-0 Shutout
Tuesday, September 7th , 1926
"Good pitching beats good hitting" is an old baseball adage.

Well, good pitching also beats bad hitting.

Felix Christiansen of the Palermo Frozen Ropes proved the point at Bulls Field, holding the Budapest Bulls to 5 hits in a complete game shutout victory.

"Christiansen made us look real bad today," Bulls manager said in a postgame interview. "He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking."

Christiansen had 2 strikeouts and gave up 3 walks as the Frozen Ropes took the 8-0 win.

To date this season, Christiansen has registered 31 starts, 18-17 won-lost mark, 2.58 ERA, 290 IP, 130 strikeouts and 74 walks. Opposing teams have hit .239 against him.
