Bulls, Bartolini Stonewall Brasov, 5-0 Friday, September 10th , 1926 The Budapest Bulls shut out the Brasov Mustangs, 5-0, behind the strong pitching of Paolo Bartolini. Bartolini surrendered only 8 hits in recording the complete-game victory, and struck out 5. Following the last out, Bartolini appeared to celebrate a little too boisterously for Brasov manager , who could be seen scolding the famously outspoken right-hander as the clubs left the field. Bartolini's own manager then intervened with some words for his counterpart. The Mustangs skipper would not comment on the exchange but, at the Bulls press conference, Bartolini confirmed that it was regarding the celebration. "He basically told me I was being a lousy winner," Bartolini said. "And I told him he was being a lousy loser," Budapest manager added. Checking out his stats for the season, Bartolini has registered 10 wins and 5 losses in 15 starts, posted a 2.01 ERA, and struck out 71 batters in 139 innings. |
