Bernard Blanks Birmingham, 4-0 Friday, September 17th , 1926 The Birmingham Comets met their match today in Moscow hurler Fredy Bernard. He kept them guessing the whole game and spun a 2-hit shutout. "He just worked us over," Birmingham skipper said. "He probably didn't even need a shower after the game -- he barely worked up a sweat." In the 4-0 victory, Bernard whiffed 2 and gave up 2 walks. So far this season, Bernard has compiled a 17-19 record with a 3.13 ERA. |
