Perron Shuts the Door on New York, Records 100th Save.
Wednesday, May 30th , 2068
The Norfolk Vikings really celebrated their 4-3 victory over the New York Revolution at Citi Field 2012. Not only did the Vikings win the game, but reliever Eddie Perron recorded his 100th-career save. The bullpen ace stopped New York on no runs and no hits in his 1 innings of work to seal the triumph.
"It's a good milestone -- it doesn't happen very often," Perron said. "I was out there when my teammates needed me 100 times, and I'm real proud of that."
Perron has parlayed 192 games and 191.1 innings of work into a 11-18 lifetime record with 100 saves and 171 strikeouts. In his career he has fashioned a 2.87 ERA with 171 strikeouts and 59 walks.
