Craig Mows Down Oslo R, 17-0
Friday, September 17th , 1926
The Oslo R Lumber Kings manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Karlsruhe R Oilmen. The Lumber Kings were overpowered by Karlsruhe R starter Lewis Craig, who hurled his club to victory, 17-0.
"It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," said.
Over 9 innings, Craig blanked Oslo R on 6 hits with 3 walks and 10 strikeouts.
"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Craig said.
"I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."
On the season, Craig has a 1-2 record with a 3.52 ERA.

Lumber Kings Advance to World Series
Wednesday, September 15th , 1926
The Oslo R Lumber Kings have beaten the Leipzig R Seagulls and will advance to the World Series.
Oslo R won the final game by a 5-4 count to take the series 4-2. The Lumber Kings triumph was no doubt in large part because of the performance of left fielder Gav Shablygin, who was named MVP of the series.
"The only thing that matters is that we're off to the next round and one step closer to a World Series," he said.
The Oslo R Lumber Kings will play against the Karlsruhe R Oilmen in the next round. Karlsruhe R won their series against the Dresden R Ivy 4 games to 1. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.

Karlsruhe R Advances to World Series
Tuesday, September 14th , 1926
The Karlsruhe R Oilmen are riding high after winning the League Championship Series and eliminating the Dresden R Ivy by a series score of 4-1.
The final blow came tonight at Oilmen Park, when Karlsruhe R secured its spot in the World Series with a 9-2 victory.
"It feels good to put them away because we really didn't want to let them crawl back into this series," said catcher Laurentij Hvostyuk, who was named series MVP. "A team like that, you need to bury them when you get the chance."
Hvostyuk certainly helped his team's cause, as he hit .682 with a .692 on-base percentage in the series. He also chipped in 3 home runs, drove in 15 RBI and scored 6 runs.
The Karlsruhe R Oilmen don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Leipzig R Seagulls - Oslo R Lumber Kings series. Oslo R leads the series 3 games to 2. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
